Heyrocco

Heyrocco is a Southern California band; by both geographical location and sound. The three piece band got started after an open mic blues night in South Carolina. Their fifteen minutes of jam time on stage in front of a crowd of old guys made them want to write their own music. They later saw Local Natives, an "indie" band who was beginning to make it big. Seeing another group doing what they wanted to do on such a large scale pushed Heyrocco to begin their journey as a serious band. Although, maybe not as serious as their social media might make them out to be. All three of the guys in Heyrocco have been good friends for years and have bonded over making music together.

Heyrocco's music sounds like every good aspect of California with just a touch of the golden state's grime.  Their frontman, Nate, describes their sound as: "heart-felt, spontaneous, electrifying, cathartic [and] fun". He explains the sound they are aiming for is always changing based on what is happening around them. Their sound is a direct reflection of how they are feeling and what they are experiencing. Writing music is a cathartic experience for each member of Heyrocco; they write to process what they are going through regardless of if it’s a negative or positive experience. They aim to keep changing and growing. Good art is not a linear experience. With growth comes more chances to prove to their parents that they can make it big in the music industry.

Veering a bit away from a general garage rock sound, Heyrocco is working on new music. The first release of their new music is a single titled 'Love Drunk'; the single holds lyrics that are best described as country themed while still holding Heyrocco's coveted California sound. With their new music the band has found a higher appreciation in the whole process of creation. For a while, as record labels began getting involved in their process and music was turned down the band was becoming discouraged, but with a new vigor for creation Heyrocco is working on more new music that their whole hearts are in.
