David Bee

David Bee makes music because it is a "cost effective therapy session". Music allows Bee to let go of negative emotions and remember the good moments in a stronger way. While music is emotional for Bee, he strays away from writing excessively emotional songs as they always feel a bit too cheesy for his taste. He prefers to write more light-hearted songs. Music gets Bee through the day, even if he is just listening. Because of this, it’s important to him to make music that will get others through their days.

Bee's passion for music began in middle school when he played French horn in his school's band. Before French horn, he tried to learn upright bass and guitar but neglected to practice and eventually gave up. In music he found friends and a strong sense of community. In high school Bee joined jazz band; this taught him all the music theory he knows. He picked up a guitar again during his junior year and stuck to it this time. Not long after he began teaching himself guitar he learned to play bass. Bee taught himself "rock standards" on both instruments and has continued to learn more.

Bee practically came out of the womb listening to Simon and Garfunkel, since his mother is such a big fan, it only makes sense that he would find heavy inspiration in Paul Simon. He grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel, but when he left for college he began listening to Simon's solo work which has served as inspiration. Beyond Paul Simon, Mac Demarco more or less got Bee to start creating music. Demarco's DIY style showed him that music does not need to be extraordinarily professional or fancy to be good. Coming to that realization got Bee excited to make music.

Bee dove head-first into creating music, buying the cheapest equipment he could he immediately began creating sounds. His music is appropriately self proclaimed as "jazz-inspired indie folk pop-rock"; which (considering his sources of inspiration) makes perfect sense . The music he is currently working on will be of higher quality and superior recording compared to his past works. He currently has a few demos and is hoping to have released a debut single by December.
