Folk artist j solomon recently released a single titled 'Greetings From Suburbia'. The song pokes fun at the stereotypes generally found in suburban high schools, much like the one solomon attended. All the stereotypes that are sung about are not meant to be made fun of in an offensive way. Solomon found it a bit ironic that every suburban high school has the same type of people: the football players who while having peaked in high school will go on have jobs in politics that dictate how their classmates will live their lives, the pretty girls who mask mental illnesses with their wall of air-headed popularity, the kids who immediately fled town the second they graduate, and the band kids who are all the same. 

'Greetings From Suburbia' was written a couple years ago, but solomon did not feel like it was the right time to release it. So with help from many of his friends. Each instrument was recorded from each individual's home, then put together by solomon. 'Greetings From Suburbia' is a folk song at it's core. 

solomon began writing poetry and songs at a very early age. He wanted to be a rock star when he was seven. He began his first band- although it is pretty generous to call it a band seeing as they never actually played any music- The Vipers when he was nine. From The Vipers he went on to bigger and better things: actually playing music. solomon comes from a non-musical family. While his family supports him, they do not quite understand his goals to make music a career, a path he is well on his way to. 

As both a listener and an artist solomon has taken an interest in lyrics. He does not always care about the meaning behind the lyrics. Sometimes a certain arrangement of words will provide an insane amount of serotonin, based solely on how they sound in conjunction. His lyrics are meant to be taken at a surface level meaning while also being deep enough to dive into. It is up to the reader how they wish to internalize a lyric. Either way, his music holds the same sensitive, emotional, and highly intentional tone. 

solomon is shooting for an EP by the end of 2021, with singles sprinkled throughout the year. Until then listeners can stream 'Greetings From Suburbia'.
