The Banana Creatures

The Banana Creatures are a four piece band based in Vancouver, Washington. The band is made up of Patrick Viena, Chris O'Connor, Austin Elsey, and Alex Rolf.

As any good band from the Pacific Northwest The Banana Creatures make loud, heavy, fairly fuzzy rock n roll. The music instills a sense of angst in the listener... It is rock n roll that does it's job. O'Conner got the itch to play drums after seeing Foo Fighters, an inspiration you can hear in The Banana Creature's core sound. On the other hand Viena began to take music seriously after listening to a 9 Inch Nails record when he was 17, this heavier inspiration is also clearly audible. Viena told their producer that he wanted it to sound like "Iggy Pop meets Elton John'' and that's just what they got, only with a sprinkle of Dave Grohl's strong grip on rock n roll coming out of the PNW.

Each recording brings them a chance to improve and hone their skills. Drummer, O'Connor began drumming as a way to relieve stress, but has grown to find passion in it. He explains that as long as he is getting to make music with his friends he will have a good gage of his personal growth as a musician. The luxury of playing with other musicians came in the form of The Banana Creatures.

The Banana Creatures took shape when lead singer Viena who enlisted his friends to help record and bring life to his ideas.Viena was not super comfortable to play music with other people as it was just a bit out of his comfort zone.  The band has recorded and had a record professionally mixed. The band has a second album that is written and ready to record; it will hold the same sound. Only this album is set to feel more well rounded as it will be their sophomore record and they are nailing down their sound and beginning to sound more like themselves than their idols. Before their second album The Banana Creatures plan to record a live album and re-record their first album as acoustic tracks.
