Chloe Selavka

Chloe Selavka's parents met on a high school band trip and their love of music followed them into adulthood. Their love of music has worn off on Selavka in the form of a love of musical theater. She has always been more into theater than music and is even going to major in musical theater. 

During her gap year Selavka tried to find something to keep her busy when she was not working. Since she grew up around music and has written off and on since she was a child, music seemed like an obvious hobby. Music is an extremely therapeutic experience for her. As a person who is terrible at expressing her own feelings verbally she has been drawn to expressing those feelings sonically. Her music provides her with a space to be completely open and honest with her feelings. It allows her to make something beautiful out of her messy emotions. While her music is telling her story, it does not always have a deep meaning, sometimes it is just fun. 

Selavka believes everyone has a story that's worth telling. Someone will inevitably be able to relate to the stories she tells in each song. She hopes that her music will provide a bond between people.

Selavka recently released a song called 'Sweet'. It is the only song she has written so far that is not about a specific person or moment. The song is all about all the little moments in a relationship and how those moments make a relationship so special. 

While  Selavka loves music, making music forever is not her main goal in life. She believes making music as a career would take the joy out of it for her. 

Selavka's most recent release 'Bethany' is what she has described as, "you belong with me plus kazoos".
