The Boy Who Lived

While Harry Gallagher's music falls somewhere in-between the sub-genres of electronic and alternative it is evident he is a fan of all types of music. He grew up in a family, who might not have been musically talented, but was big on music. Gallagher's father played a fair amount of 70's rock, Pink Floyd and Dire Straits, while his sister played bands like The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys. All these artists have worn off on Gallagher as inspiration. Using these inspirations Gallagher spearheads a solo project called The Boy Who Lived. While it is a solo project, Gallagher is always up for collaboration with other artists.

The Boy Who Lived aims to convey emotion though his electronic sound. Much like Jamie XX and Bob Moses who have mastered being able to get emotion across with a sound that stereotypically lacks emotion. The emotions shown in the Gallagher's work stem from films and tv series. Any program that can add to his emotions is a strong source of inspiration.

Gallagher's main goal is to keep releasing music that he hopes people will enjoy. As a musician he does not have strong goals, he is simply going with the flow. This extremely laid back approach to music seems to be working for him. His first single 'What Am I Chasing', a collaboration with Sum Shine, was released back in August. Taking advantage of the free time he had during quarantine Gallagher wrote the chords then reached out to Sum Shine; who is an entire ocean away from Gallagher's home country of England. The two were able to make the collaboration possible through the convenience of the internet. They sent clips back and forth until they came to a final product they were both proud of.

The Boy Who Lived aims to release three or four more singles by the end of 2020. The first of which is a song with artist Tre Mitchel. The song will feature "big reverbs, simplistic guitars, and even some steel drums," Gallagher goes on to say he believes the track has a very UK sound.
