Jackson Craig

Jackson Craig has spent the last several months working on a full-length album that is set to be out in mid to late 2021. The record has an incredibly different sound than what Craig has put out in the past. The new record is still very much his voice and style, just an improved version as he has grown as an artist. Craig plans on sticking with his knack for storytelling with a new style of arrangement and production. Listeners can expect an album that has a smooth flow from song to song, while still being uniquely different as singles.

Film is greatly influences Craig's music. As part of the album he is currently working on, he would like to make a series of music videos or a short film to accompany the music. This love of a visual aspect to go along with his art will be shown in the animated short that is to accompany Craig's next single.

Craig's upcoming album will hold the same influences that have inspired all his music, with his main inspiration being The Beatles. The Beatles are as famous as they are for a good reason: they knew what they were doing. "I really think that if you want to learn how to write songs you could only ever listen to The Beatles discography and you'd have most of the information you need," explained Craig. Stemming from his love of The Beatles, Craig has always felt a strong appreciation for groups of the late 60's and 70's. Musicians like James Taylor, Crosby Stills and Nash, and The Beach Boys are his strongest influences. As a result of finding his footing in music in a world dominated by hip hop Craig draws inspiration from Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, and Anderson .Paak.

Craig makes music as a form of self expression. "I make music because I've found it to be the most meaningful way of expressing myself and connecting with others," says Craig. Music allows him to communicate his feelings and tell a story at the same time. He hopes to use this form of communication to be able to make a living. "I don't need to sell out stadiums to be happy as a musical artist," says Craig. His goal is simply to be able to live off his art, although with the work he is putting in selling out stadiums might not be too big of a goal.
