Vocalist Kristie Mcewen spent her childhood watching her dad play guitar in a band. Her father's playing made her want to learn guitar to be just like him, but wanting to be a musician didn’t click for her until she started going to live shows. "I knew I wanted to become a musician when I started going to live gigs," recalled Mcewen. "I was so inspired by the performers and knew straight away that's what I wanted to do."

Jack Kendall got a taste of guitar while playing Guitar Hero at a friend's house. This little taste left him wanting the real thing. Luckily his father had a guitar at home and he began learning. What really made Kendall want to be a musician was not a video game, but coming home from school and watching live performances on Kerrang.

Rob Jackson watched an Arctic Monkeys performance and a handful of Noel Gallagher interviews and instantly knew he wanted to be a musician. Jackson had no interest in music until he was 16. His grandfather talking about a family member being in a successful band in the 1960's peaked his interest in music. Being friends with a ton of musicians was also helpful in making the decision to pick up an instrument.

Drummer Max Champney's interest in music stems from his father; who has played in bands throughout Champney's childhood. His father included him in the project he was working on. This early exposure to making music helped push Champney in the direction of his own writing.

Joe Webb's father has an impressive record collection that is strongly supplied in 80's heavy metal. "The artwork amazed and scared me as a child and I loved listening whenever my dad gave them a spin," remembers Webb. He remembers watching VHS tapes of old Iron Maiden shows and being impressed by the guitar solos.

All five of these musicians have been friends for quite a while. Each of them had played in cover bands, but in fall of 2019 they all decided to get together and focus on their own music instead of other artist's work. Just a year since their formation Admissions has released their most recent single: 'Kill The Switch'. The single holds their well established alternative rock sound.
