Park The Van

Park The Van was founded in 2004 in a small New Orleans apartment in order to release a record by Dr. Dog. Eventually the label found themselves nearly drowning in records that were begging to be released, so they did just that and have continued to release music for a bit over a decade. Fifteen years later the label is still in business.

"It starts with a genuine excitement and a desire to be involved in the capacity of releasing music and sharing it with others," says Chris Watson of Park The Van. The goal of the label is to grow as a bussiness while still being able to meet the needs of their artists. Park The Van strives to ensure their reputation as a business remains positive. While upholding the business side of Park The Van, the label aims to be help people discover new music.

Park The Van does not work any specific genre of artist. If an artist has a solid sound the label believes is worth sharing then Park The Van will work with that artist. "Together we've built something unique and there isn't anything quite like it," says Watson.

Park The Van is built on the idea that there is nothing quite like music. There is no other medium of art that creates as much connection as music does. "I know for me personally, the connection to a great song or album is one of the most essential aspects of my life," explained Watson. Everyone who is a part of Park The Van seems to believe in Watson's statement.

Some of the artists who are signed to Park The Van are: Drew Citron, Okey Dokey, and Cayocas. Each of these musicians has their own very distinct sound and style, but all fit together perfectly like one big family.
