Side B

The members of Side B seem to be destined to play rock n roll. In 2016 when the members where in eighth grade vocalist Ian Justino decided to start a band. This band gradually shifted in line up eventually including Eric Mitchell on bass, AJ Horton on guitar and Dylan Travis on drums. Horton and Travis have been long time friends and lovers of music, forming their first "band" in fifth grade before either of them knew how to play their instruments.

Side B's first EP Low Budget Romance has served as a learning experience for the new band. Through out the process the group learned a lot about what the entire recording and releasing process is like. This newfound knowledge and skill will be used in the future. Side B began writing for their next release before Low Budget Romance was out in the world.

In addition to all that Low Budget Romance has taught the band their EP also helped Side B find their sound. By mixing the principals of classic rock with a newer alternative rock sound the band has created a hybrid of old and new rock. Justino has a voice made for classic rock while his bandmates play what can only be described as the hippest alternative rock.

Low Budget Romance is the first four songs Side B ever wrote together. The track list is the order in which the songs were written. Each song almost has its own genre while holding the coveted Side B sound. The first track 'Funky Boi' shows off their heavy inspiration and appreciation for classic rock with an almost Lenny Kravitz feel. Track two, 'Low Budget Romance' breaks away from that strong rock influence and lets more of their own musical ideas flow. 'Castaway', the third track, shows a pull from all genres for inspiration; producing a sound that is tainted with a bit of a reggae sound. The final track, 'Eqzns' is a solid representation of what fans can expect from Side B in the future.

This fall the boys of Side B will all be starting college at different schools. This will be creating a bit of distance and slowing down their recording process a little bit, but they will not let their geographic separation separate the band. Seeing as the members of Side B believe music brings people together it would seem a bit ridiculous to let something as small as location ruin their band.

Side B strives to fulfill their need to be creative. Music is the perfect vessel to share their creativity and hopefully inspire and make their fans happy. Side B is extremely grateful for their fans. "We won't let you down," says Justino. "So keep coming with that awesome support and thank you so much for the support you've given us already."
