Pillbook

Pillbook is a solo project by Arron Garcia. The project is entirely controlled by Garcia; this control includes writing and production. For live shows Garcia recruits his siblings and a drummer to fill in as a band to back Pillbook.

As he grew up he wanted to be a type of performer: a magician, a dancer, Michael Jackson, he eventually found music as that outlet to perform. The interest in performing began when he was a child who held possession of a 1980's hits compilation CD. One of the songs on the CD was Michael Jackson's 'Beat It', the song as well as Jackson's frontman attitude turned Garcia onto music.

After finding that initial love of music through his 80's hits compilation CD Garcia grew and became the musician he is today. Now music is an antidepressant for Garcia. When he does not have music his mental state begins to decline. Making music comes with a lot of stress, but that stress pays off with the happiness making music brings. Pillbox is just a slightly watered down version of what Garcia is feeling or what he wants to be feeling when he writes.

Garcia is taking these feelings and intentions of feeling and creating a new record. The record will go along with Pillbox's previous record as a way of picking up where he left off. As Covid hit and touring ended Garcia was faced with a bout of post-tour depression that he has combated by writing music. The new music after the record he has been working on will be more electronic based rather than the rock driven music he has put out so far.

The goal for Pillbook is to have as big of an impression on listeners as possible. Most people have a song attached to major memories; Garcia hopes for someone to associate a Pillbox song to a favorite memory. Or for Pillbox to be an escape for someone the same way music has been an escape for Garcia.

Garcia uses his musical inclination on projects other than Pillbox. These projects typically come to him as producing work.
