Morningbird

Boston based band, Morningbird brings classic rock into the modern age. Their sound is driven by that easily recognizable and well loved classic rock sound, but with a more modern feel. Morningbird takes heavy influence from their lives. Music is easiest to write when the artist is experiencing life as much as possible. Each song Morningbird makes is carefully written with the intention of each part of the song serving a purpose. 

Max Challis met John Cattni at a five week summer program hosted by Berkley. Both musicians began to love music at a very young age. Challis took piano lessons as a child and has wanted to play music since. Cattni's father was in a cover band; as an impressionable 10 year old Cattni sat and watched his father's band rehearse which led to him wanting to become a musician. 

In late 2016 Challis had a friend who was in charge of making school sponsored videos for Berkley. The videos focused on all different genres, but were in need of a rock band so Morningbird agreed to make a music video. Morningbird had just put out their first album, "Only Believe In Love",  after forming because of a need to present  music to a group of music industry people. While they never ended up making the music video for Berkley they did find that they really enjoyed making music together. The only thing Morningbird need was a few trusted friends to play live shows with them; eventually they found friends who wanted to play with them. 

The members of Morningbird use music as a creative outlet. Challis has other creative outlets: photography as well as freelance production and engineering. All of these outlets allow Challis to make something out of nothing. He uses each outlet as a way to show his personal history, what he was going through at the time each project is created provides a clear timeline of his life. Music is a reflection of the artist. The listener can take what they want from the music, form their own opinion of the artist. Morningbird encourages their listeners to let the music speak for itself. 

Morningbird's most recent release, "Nice To Need You", is a single that is all about knowing what you are doing is wrong, but doing it anyways. The song was written a few years ago, but was only put out a few months ago. Morningbird is hoping to release an album in the fall.
