Loose Articles

Loose Articles produces a sound that is reminiscent of early punk rock, but holds the energy of the 1990's riot grrrl movement. The all girl band's main source of inspiration is any experience that leads to a negative emotion. "Basically anything that triggers a negative emotion I turn into lyrics," said bassist and vocalist Natalie Wardle. Seeing as negative emotion makes up the ground that punk was built on this source of inspiration has worked well for Loose Articles.
Besides the negative emotions brought up by uncomfortable life situations Loose Articles finds a bit of inspiration in the bands they play along side in the Manchester music scene. Every band works hard to help build each other up. The support from other bands in their scene makes Loose Articles want to make more music, play more music, and create a welcoming image of the musicians in Manchester.
The group formed after everyone had been working in clubs around their home city. Rhythm guitarist and vocalist, Tree Nah, had been wanting to form her own band, even writing her own songs before she had anyone to play with. Nah began pestering her friends to start a band with her. Guitarist Erin Caine joined Nah to form the earliest version of Loose Articles. Not too long after the three began to play together they asked Louise Rivett to play drums for them.
Loose Articles had plans of recording new music, but those plans got bumped back to the end of August. The group will be recording at Brighton's Electric Studio with producer Theo Varney. The group plans to have new music out by the end of the year.
Until Covid clears up Loose Articles will be working up plans to make their live shows even better. Each member of the band brings their creativity and art to the groups making for exciting live shows. Everyone works on album artwork and video design together which produces art that the whole group can be proud of.
