Jet Black Alley Cat

Jet Black Ally Cat began at Tennessee state under various names playing acoustic sets as a four piece. With Joe Wilkinson singing, Zach Douglas and Christian Harrison both on guitar, and Cristofer Johnson on bass. Eventually they met Bryant Lowry, their drummer, and became the Jet Black Ally Cat their fans know and love.
Wilkinson got into music by singing in the shower; eventually he became interested in the performance side of music. Watching bands like NSYNC as a kid got him into this. He carries this love of performance into Jet Black Alley Cat. "When stepping on stage it's my duty to give people a show," says Wilkinson. "They may not know it, but that's what they came for. For a [freaking] show!" Wilkinson goes on to point out the show is what is most important for Jet Black Alley Cat. The band is very inspired by visual art, having been an image based band from the start it only makes sense that they find inspiration in movies featuring a strong lead character with the oh-so-cool attitude. Movies like Top Gun, Grease and Dirty Dancing. "Movies and their soundtracks give me more inspiration than anything else," said Wilkinson.
Jet Black Alley Cat is a band of guys who decided they wanted to make music, set their minds to it, and made it happen. A listener can hear this work ethic in everything Jet Black Alley Cat has put out. They have a sound that would fit perfectly along side Bad Suns on a playlist. A sound that feels vintage, like it fits in the soundtrack of a movie out of the 1980's... giving the listener an earful of their inspiration. The same sound feels new and fresh; the listener might have heard something similar, but not quite as good.
Jet Black Alley Cat released an EP titled "[the black era] in May. The EP is available on Spotify and most major streaming services.
In terms of their music Jet Black Alley Cat writes with a goal of making songs that will be timeless and impact their listeners as deeply as a song can. Each song is written with the intention of letting the listener "know there is someone out there relating to them specifically," mentioned Wilkinson. In terms of being a band, Jet Black Alley Cat hopes to play as much as they can, on as many stages as possible, in as many locations as possible.
