Dance Till Dead

When the global pandemic hit it prevented Izzy Pineda from playing with his band causing his insatiable need to make music to grow. So, he began a solo project called Dance Till Dead wanting to simply "make something good". The solo project holds a five song EP called "Almost Perfect" that was released at the end of May. Pineda recorded the music for each track then listened until he found the direction he wanted the song to go in. Prior to going through the writing process for Dance Till Dead's first EP Pineda had gone through a break up; something that hung over his writing and influenced the EP. "Almost Perfect" reflects the "impending doom of a break up and not having the spine to just say 'I want to break up'," said Pineda. In addition to the heaviness of a break up, recurring dreams of the world ending influenced "Almost Perfect". A breakup does make a person feel like the world is ending, so the concepts are not too far apart. Regardless of the weight of the influences, Dance Till Dead is certainly "something to cry to".
Dance Till Dead will eventually include more music; possibly taking a more poetic, spoken word approach to the project. Making a slightly softer sound with the same heavy themes.
Dance Till Dead is inspired by real life. By partying, by people who do not exist. Pineda makes his music as ambiguous as possible. He will take the experiences and characteristics of multiple people and create one fictional person.
When looking to other artists for inspiration Pineda looks to the notoriously moody, whiny guitar players and poets such as The Smiths and Bob Dylan. But perhaps most notably and less whiny: Modest Mouse.
Ultimately, Izzy Pineda just wants to make something worth while and that is what Dance Till Dead is.
