Lucid Hoops

While sitting in an In N Out drive thru Luke Willis declared to his family that he was going to pursue music. He had been living in LA and taking drum lessons from a great drummer who had gotten him into bands he loves. Jack Barratt is a musician because he wanted to be Daniel Johns. He listened to Silverchair's "Diorama", his favorite album, over and over, eventually deciding he was going to become a musician. While watching video hits Metallica's "One" came on, Connor Barratt watched, in awe of Kirk Hammett's speedy playing. He knew right away he was going to play guitar; two years later he started playing. Ashleigh Gee always wanted to be a musician. There is no other career she would ever want to get into. She worked hard and got a Bachelor's degree in music.
Lucid Hoops was formed at the Australian Institute of Music. Vocalist/ keyboard player Gee  and guitarist/ backing vocalist Conner Barratt had come out of a failed band with intentions to keep making music. The pair then brought in Connor Barratt's brother Jack Barratt to play bass. Lucid Hoops worked as a trio for a few months until finding their drummer Willis. "[Willis] was the final piece and everything clicked and worked from there," recalled Gee.
Lucid Hoops has two singles "Glass" and "Night Time" with three more singles coming out within the following couple of months. The singles, once all related, will come together to make Lucid Hoop's first EP: "Diviner". These songs are all or will be up on all streaming services; including YouTube where an incredible music video for "Glass" is up. Lucid Hoops has used the words "energetic, eccentric, [and] eclectic" to describe their music. Their music is also described as "Hard-hitting, yet melancholy".
"No two people can hear the same thing when listening to [a] song, music is a giant buffet where everyone can pick their favorite part, but all enjoy together," said Willis. Each person can listen to any song Lucid Hoops has put out and find their own meaning.
