Wild Planes

The members of Wild Planes grew up listening to rock n roll. They wanted to be like their favorite bands. Bands like Aerosmith, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. These are artists that Wild Planes finds inspiration in, but their love of music is not just about rock n roll. The group also looks to artists with a bit more of a groovy style like James Brown and Lionel Richie. "All of us have a similar reason why we wanted to play, the love and passion for playing, the ability to join a band and also getting an in with the ladies," says drummer Andre Jevnik.
Wild Planes started out with a different name and a different line up. The name was Whyte Plains and the line up held current lead singer and guitarist Kris Carmello and drummer Andre Jevnik. After a couple years under this name the group broke up. Carmello and Jevnik set out to rebuild the band. The first step: a new name. Due to FaceBook's rules with changing names the group needed a name that was very similar. After a lot of brainstorming Jevnik's mom suggested Wild Planes. Now all the band needed was a bassist, another guitarist and a show. They found all of this, only a little bit backwards. Wild Planes got a show at the famous Irving Plaza in New York City. They had just one problem, they had half a band, no setlist. With only a month to figure it out they set out to find a band and they eventually found their bassist Jimmy Hoag and guitarist Sean Mac. Irving Plaza was a success and since then the band, now as a three piece with Hoag, Jevnik, and Carmello, and has played many more great shows. Even sharing a bill with iconic rock groups like Def Leppard, Poison and Ratt.
Wild Planes currently has a four song EP titled "Singing 'N' Slingin". Listeners can find the EP as well as a handful of singles on all streaming services. With no set release date, Wild Planes has plans to record new music in 2020. As soon as everything is ready for the world to hear it will be found on all platforms. Follow the band on Instagram @wildplanes for dates, both show dates and release dates.
