Strawberry Mountain

Strawberry Mountain sounds like a stop on the Candy Land board game; however Strawberry Mountain is a New York City based solo project by Carter Prince that sounds just as sweet. Along side Prince is a revolving  group of friends that make up a backing band.
Strawberry Mountain is psychedelic pop. With inspiration coming from groups like MGMT, The Flaming Lips, Of Montreal, and Deerhunter.
It all started when Carter Prince's parents split up and he and his mother moved to the west coast. His father sent him an iPod shuffle that was filled with music. The music helped Prince come to terms with the hardships his family was going through. Music turned out to be just what he needed so he picked up a guitar and then eventually learned piano as well. Teaching himself these two instruments came naturally since he had been playing saxophone in school jazz bands since the age of ten. After learning guitar and piano he began writing his own songs and has been doing so for seven years now.
The big important moment in wanting to pursue music came when Carter Prince saw "Back to The Future". When he saw "Marvin Berry and The Starlighters" play The Penguin's "Earth Angel". In fact Earth Angel was the first song Prince learned on guitar.
Currently on a small hiatus to focus on school and producing new music, Strawberry Mountain currently does not have any up coming shows. You can listen to his current repertoire on any streaming service and be on the look out for a new album called Technicolor Dada in January.
