Melancholy Club

Melancholy Club embodies the "sad boy" aesthetic with their name and their music. The band has a new album out now. The album, "MelonBoy" can be found on all streaming services. The album is pop punk, emo and indie rock all wrapped together in a nice package. Their influences shine through their sound, the listener can hear elements of bands like Remo Drive, Sorority Noise, and the Front Bottoms.
Melancholy Club came to be shortly after vocalist and guitarist Tanner Padbury moved to Utah for college. After having a hard time fitting in and a heartfelt chat with his roommate Padbury was introduced to Michael Frame, who is now Melancholy Club's guitarist. They had a mutual love of music and hit it off after playing together for a bit. Soon they found Braxton Jensen with drumsticks sticking out of his backpack, as if by fate, their tastes all matched up really well. Now with three quarters of a band Melancholy Club needed a bass player. It was not an easy task to find the right bassist, but eventually the group found Ethan Christensen who played in a band called Backseat Lovers. As soon as they heard he was free they snagged their bass player.
Each member got into music for all the right reasons, weather that was rock band or guitar hero or pop punk videos played on MTV before it was time to leave for school. Or maybe it was a bit less of a love for music and a bit more of a love for the ladies. "I started learning guitar in 7th grade [cause] I thought it would get me a girlfriend," said Michael Frame. Whatever the reason they got into music, it has payed off as Melancholy Club continues to grow, both in their following and sound.
Melancholy Club has made it a goal to continue writing and developing their sound. In doing this they aim to explore new ideas and emotions in everything they write. Melancholy Club hopes to stay relatable to their current fans as they develop their sound while still gaining a following so they can take their music all over the world.
