Bath Salts Brigade

Bath Salts Brigade brings punk rock to the masses of Montana with a hand full of CD compilations, their debut album, and soon their sophomore release. The band takes influence from bands like Death Threat, Avenge Sevenfold, and GWAR. Most importantly Bath Salts Brigade finds inspiration in their friends and members of Potbelly who “keep the DIY punk spirit alive”.
“… one day I heard The Ramones on the radio and it sort of changed my life,” says PJ Martian, Bath Salt Brigade’s bassist and vocalist. The Ramones have made music sound easy to many young musicians and that was not lost on Martian. No longer being content as just a consumer of music, Martian got his first bass and played Misfits songs for hours. After a childhood of being told what he couldn’t do, drummer Jonny Vomit, was advised by his father that being a musician was “unrealistic” he decided to throw himself into his goals. A feeling of accomplishment struck when Bath Salts Brigade was in the studio recording their first record, this feeling continued on when they went on tour. The sense of accomplishment is further fulfilled when the number of Spotify streams keeps rising.
Bath Salts Brigade tries their best to serve their community. The band has done a few benefit shows for the Great Falls Community Food Bank as well as the National Alliance for Mental Illness. They continue to give back to the community that supports them. Bath Salts Brigade also works hard to give recognition to other great bands in their scene. “I want people to see that Montana isn’t just cowboys and country music,” said Martian.
The punk scene generally creates an atmosphere where anyone and everyone can feel accepted. For guitarist and backing vocalist, Scott Barley, finds a feeling of unity in the wildly accepted individuality of punk music.

They are currently on a short winter hiatus to focus on their second record and avoid the treacherous winter roads of Montana. Bath Salts Brigade will be back to playing shows in April when the snow melts off with a performance in Kalispell on the 24th of April.
