Woolbright
The members of Woolbright, a "smol rock" band from Davie, Florida, all find inspiration in different artists. Drummer Gabriel Jean has a massive list of artists that he finds inspiration in, but to name a few: Oceana, Brian Blade, and London Elektricity. Guitarist Josue Vargas looks to bands like Circa Survive and Death Cab for Cutie for his inspiration. Bassist John Peloso finds his inspiration in the bands Incubus and Town Portal. Vocalist and guitarist Candice Maritato finds her inspiration in bands such as Say Anything and Chon; as well as female vocalists Hayley Williams and Lauryn Hill. All of their inspirations blend together to make a emo alternative rock sound.
Candice Maritato started Woolbright as a solo project with a different name. Each member had been playing in a different band or had a different project that everyone else really liked, when those projects eventually ran their courses they got together and found that they enjoyed writing together. So, they built onto Maritato's project and eventually became Woolbright.
If you happen to be in Orlando, Florida you can make your way out to Pulp Fest on September 8th to support Woolbright and other fantastic Florida bands. If you can't make it out to Orlando don't fret; you can catch them, in West Palm Beach at Buble Fest on September 13th and 14th again playing at the same place as some other Florida native bands.
In their free time they like to play Catan, a board game, so perhaps you'll sit down with a few pals and play a game of Catan while you listen to Woolbright. They even have a new single out called "Pillow Top".
