Prinz Leo
Solo artist Leonhard Wimmer goes by the name Prinz Leo; the name embodies the notion that regardless of where you come from you can become whoever you want and do what ever you want. Prinz Leo takes this belief of wanting everyone to be who they are and melds that into his music that has a unique Funk and Soul sound. He hopes to inspire others with his mentality and his music.
He predominately plays electric guitar, but enjoys mixing rare or unpopular instruments into his work. Some these instruments he likes to include are the jew harp, chromatic harmonica, and African string instruments.
Prinz Leo began playing classic guitar at age seven. He fell in love with guitar the second he began playing. Since he began playing guitar the instrument has been therapeutic for him: helping him cope with the loss of those who were close to him. After hearing and falling in love with the "singing guitar sound" of Carlos Santana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' John Frusciante Prinz Leo made the switch to electric guitar. Prinz Leo has been fortunate enough to have had lessons in both types of guitar.
Prinz Leo plays with other artists as a session guitarist. He also enjoys busking; the immediate and brutally honest feedback of busking is one the reasons he loves it so much. Prinz Leo is currently not playing shows as he is working on his craft; he is working towards releasing his upcoming single "The More You Give". The single will be out in October 2019.
