Slaves To Humanity

Slaves To Humanity is a five piece "sunset grunge" band that can be found in Orange County, California or on YouTube. Vocalist Aidan Amini may have made up the term "sunset grunge" and as far as bassist Nathan Johnson can tell all it means is Slaves To Humanity is a hard driving rock band with an element of grunge.
The boys in Slaves To Humanity find inspiration in various places. Whether that place is listening to Joy Division in a bad head space and being fueled by that oh so teenage angst or just really enjoying the playing styles of Myles Kennedy and Chris Cornell. These inspirations come through in their music. When Slaves To Humanity write music two or three of them will work together then bring it to the rest of the band to fine tune it. This method of song writing allows for less distractions from each other. It also allows their personal inspirations to shine through.
Slaves To Humanity started out with a different line up, but since it's changed their first gig was at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood. A venue famous for housing bands such as The Doors and their bassist never having played for anyone other than his mom, what could go wrong? The gig may have been a bit chaotic, but everyone played amazingly. Before their triumphant first show with their new line up the original members of Salves to Humanity had a slight falling out. Aidan Amini was left with no band members an a gig booked at the Whiskey. Amini, set on playing the Whiskey a Go Go, turned to the website "bandmix" to find some new members. He found Nathan Johnson and in the following weeks they found their drummer Shane Ryan, lead guitarist Pierce Akers, and finally their rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist Max Hickman. With a line up that gets along quite well and some shows under their belt Salves To Humanity will be back to the Whiskey a Go Go this winter.
