Dacey

Canadian bassist and vocalist Dacey plays alternative R&B with her band. Her band is made up of Josh "Drilly Nelso" on bass, Marco on drums, and J.T. "Mr. Texson" and Nate "Waterfall Eyes" on guitars.
Dacey describes her music as "real soul". She grew up in a home that always had music playing coincidentally her love of music began at a very young age. Dacey was fortunate enough to be raised by parents who have incredible tastes in music. Her mother had recordings of concerts on VHS tapes; Dacey would stand in front of their TV set and mimic the performer. Whether that performer was country star Shania Twain or pop queen Britney Spears Dacey loved dancing and singing around the living room. She finds inspiration not only in the recorded concerts she watched as a child, but also in the music she listened to on tape. Her parents had a massive cassette collection so she got a taste of everything from Elvis to James Brown and Do-OP. In addition to her parents influence in their taste in music Dacey also finds inspiration in modern-classics such as Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson. Another source of inspiration for Dacey is modern artists like Tyler the Creator and Rihanna. In terms of performance she finds inspiration in Mexican pop star and performance powerhouse Selena Quintanilla.
Dacey uses music as her outlet: emotionally and physically. Music always feels at home to her no matter where she is. Writing music provides a space to reflect on her experiences. For Dacey there is no other way to express herself other than through music.
