Popsiclestickairport

Based out of Gilbert, Arizona indie-pop/rock band Popsiclestickairport was formed in a fairly mundane fashion. Lead singer Ryhs Green and guitarist Kaden Heyl were playing in a band before Popsiclestickairport. They had their drummer leave and Gunner Burton was ready to fill in right away. Green later met bassist Tyler Christensen at an event and they became friends so it only made sense to have Christensen play bass.
The members of Popsiclestickairport became musicians after growing up listening to music. They were each inspired by different artists to pick up and master an instrument. They all find inspiration in different artists; Rhys Green and Kaden Heyl tend to give their attention to the crowd and what is going to please them the most. For inspiration in that sense they look towards bands like Walk the Moon and COIN. Gunner Burton finds his inspiration in hardcore. Radiohead fan Tyler Christensen finds his inspiration in dramatic rock which is apparent in his love of complicated chord progressions.
Popsiclestickairport started out at house show at a friend's place. They opened for a band called Rubberneck, who happen to be good friends of their's. Even though this was not technically their first gig together as they had played three gigs under a different name, it was the first Popsiclestickairport gig. Since then they have played many gigs with Cedar City being their favorite show to date.
Popsiclestickairport believes one of the most important aspects of music is self-growth and self-expression which comes though in their music. You can find Popsiclestickairport on almost all major streaming services and on Instagram @Popsiclestickairport. Be sure to follow their Instagram to stay updated on tour dates. If you're lucky enough to go to one of their shows you will get to see some "groovy" dance moves.
