Shoobies

"Shoobies" may seem like a made up word and well, it is. It is a slang term in the film Rocket Power for someone from out of town, a person who doesn't belong. Its a way for them to pay homage to their hometown.
Its hard to put Shoobies into a genre. Their inspirations range from Bon Ever to Led Zepplin to Sublime, and The 1975. Shoobies find solace in any artist that is unapologetically themselves and it shows. Their eps are fully indie rock, but their up coming album is more 80's synth pop meets 90's grunge.
Everyone in the band has been friends since childhood. They've always been into the same music and they played the same sports. When sports got dull, music didn't. The boys have stuck to music since its the only thing that seems to be good in a lasting manner. Eventually they thought to become a band, none of them with any actual lessons in music. Shoobies became a band simply because they could. With Casey Marley on guitar and vocals, Dylan Skorge on synth, guitar and saxophone, Beef on drums and harmonies, Dylan Bailey on bass, and Brandon Cruz on guitar and saxophone.
Shoobies' upcoming album is part of one conceptual idea. The music ties in with a book that Casey Marley is writing, as well as a film.

You can listen to Shoobies' self described "soft grunge indie love rock" on most major streaming services. Be sure to follow them on instagram @shoobiesnj for release and show dates.
