Livewater

All three girls in Livewater started playing their respective instruments at young ages. Drummer Nicole Bloc began playing when she was more or less forced to join her middle school's "rock band" elective class. Vocalist and guitarist Nohm Franbuch grew up in a musically inclined family. She began playing guitar around seventh grade and joined the "rock band' elective class. Bassist Sophia Kaufman has been playing piano since she was in kindergarten. She then took up guitar in middle school and transitioned to bass while in "rock band".
Livewater plays a mix of genres, they describe their genre as a fun loving indie riot. Each member takes influence from different bands. Nicole Bloc takes influence from other bands on their home turf of the Bay Area. All three girls are inspired by their local music scene, everyone supports each other regardless of background and/or genre. Sophia Kaufman finds inspiration in jazz; when she is not playing in the band she plays a lot of jazz and experiments with unique bass playing styles. Nohm Franbuch takes inspiration from powerful female singers in R&B and Jazz, such as Amy Winehouse. However, when they are writing they never think of other artists. They write what is true to them; lots of time and hard work go into their lyrics. All of their songs contain lyrics that aim to convey a message.
Livewater has come a long way since they first played together at a battle of the bands, even though Billy Joe Armstrong was in attendance. The band now plays packed shows at local venues. Support the Bay Area music scene by attending a Livewater show. Livewater likes to have fun at their shows. They dress up, goof around and have even switched instruments. They play a cover of Nirvana's Teen Spirit, all switching instruments and becoming "Sewage Water". Follow Livewater on instagram @livewatermusic for release and show dates.
