Talker

Through guitar, vocals, piano and occasionally the cello Celeste Tauchar plays what she calls, "Grunge- pop". Grunge-pop carries the catchy melodies and the modern production values of pop music. Yet, holds true to the do-it-yourself heavy guitar elements that are essential to grunge. Talker is one of Tauchar's many projects; she plays in bands of various genres including indie-pop, rock, and a little electro. With the constant change of sound within her projects, a vast array of inspirations can be expected. Tauchar takes inspiration from her friends in Los Angeles who are artists and writers as well as some very well known musicians. Among these well know musicians are some of the greats from the nineties including Nirvana and Alanis Morissette. Celeste Tauchar also finds inspiration in more modern artists like Lorde, Wolf Alice, and Mitski.
Celeste Tauchar writes her own music, but likes to collaborate when writing certain things or working on certain projects. Collaborations are hit and miss. Sometimes it works out and sometimes, not so much. The general attitude of everyone that is working has to be good. If the mood is wrong then the music won't be right either. On the other hand, collaborating with other writers and artists has helped bring Taucher out of a creative rut.
Taucher describes Talker as, "raw, honest, moody, cry-on-the-floor-because I'm-emotional.". This holds close to that universal feeling you get while cranking up the radio on the way home and just letting out all the tension. Even if you don't know that tension is there. So, next time you've had a long day open Spotify and pull up Talker and just let it out on your drive home.
