Flight Attendant

Nashville Indie band Flight Attendant is made up of friends: Karalyne Wineganner, Vinny Maniscalco, Michael Cottrell, Nikki Allensandra, and Derek Sprague. Their name is inspired by Vinny's mom, who is a flight attendant.
Musicians all have vastly different backgrounds, even if they play together. Lead singer, key and synth player Karalyne Winegarnner grew up with her grandmother teaching her piano. She competed in classical piano until she was in middle school. After competing she moved on to bass guitar. Winegarnner has since played keys, bass, drums, and sang in different bands of all genres. So far, Flight Attendant is her favorite band that she's ever played in. Bassist, Michael Cottrell got into music because of his dad. His father played guitar in the Air Force band, so with a little help from his dad and bands like The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, and Kings of Leon he learned to play guitar and bass. Guitarist Vinny Maniscalco really got into music with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. After getting really really good at the game he learned to play guitar. When he saw Aerosmith live at Fenway Park back in 2014 it reassured his dream of wanting to become a professional musician. Derek Sprague's parents bought him a drum kit at age ten because of his need to tap on anything and everything. He took lessons at his local drum shop before playin in his high school orchestra, jazz, and marching bands. Even winning a couple of awards at the Berklee Jazz Festival. Nikki Allensandra went to school in Los Angeles at a Wordorf School. In the fifth grade all attendees of the school got to choose either a string instrument or a recorder/flute. So, Allensandra choose the viola.
