Open Culture

Open Culture falls somewhere between Bedroom pop, Experimental indie and Indie Dream pop. The Baltimore natives are currently based in Tampa, Florida. The name, Open Culture is guitarist, vocalist and keyboard player AJ Peterson's idea. The idea is an open, free thinking state. A state that lacks all hostile feelings and ideas.
Both Peterson and Kyah Robinson, Open Culture's touring guitarist got into the music by watching live shows. These particular shows had set lists from albums with an amazing flow, each song connecting with the previous song. Their inspiration comes from artists that they greatly appreciate, these artist include: Radio Head, Animal Collective, The Antlers, and Homeshake. In addition to these inspirations Open Culture has roots in jazz, R&B, and post rock.
Open Culture is made up of two artists that have an immense respect for art in any form. They appreciate the ever changing nature of art.
Open Culture loves performing live, it is all about the connection with the crowd... with the fans. When they perform live they have the full attention of a room full of people for 30 minutes. You can give Open Culture your half an hour, or more, of attention by listening to them on most major streaming services. Follow them on Instagram for tour dates, song releases, and more @opencultureofficial.
