Bad Motivator
Spokane based rock band Bad Motivator is made up of Ian Nelson on guitar and vocals, Joey Ozel on bass, and Garrett Zanaol on drums. They each got into music in different ways: an arrest, the Beatles' Yellow Submarine cartoon, and a need for a bassist from some buddies in middle school.
Every artist has a different part of music that really resonates with them. Some artists say it's the ladies. That's the case for Garrett Zanaol because musicians get all the girls, right? Or is that just what they want you to believe. For Ian Nelson it's a creative outlet. Nelson says he gets the same feeling when he is playing that one would get when they're falling in love.
Bad Motivator takes their inspiration from other local artist. All the local artists support each other even if their genres clash. They are just trying to play and have a good time. Bad Motivator also takes inspiration from some of the greats: Misfits, The Stooges, and The Beatles.
