Quinn Mills and the Common Era

Bassist Julian Guzman, pianist/guitarist Quinn Mills, and drummer Chris Buyesse make up the Toronto based band Quinn Mills and the Common Era.
Every artist gets into music in a different way. For Julian Guzman, it was his dad buying a Red Hot Chilli Peppers record and presumably being in awe of bassist, Flea. After not really being interested in anything else he began playing music in high school. Chris Buyesse has always had a passion for music, his parents buying him a drumkit gave him an outlet for that passion. He has been dead set on being a drummer since the start. As for Quinn Mills, he got into music when he played in a band in eighth grade. Playing in that band was the only thing he really enjoyed; it was then he realized he wanted to be a musician.
Quinn Mills and the Common Era play what is best described as alternative. Some of their music is darker with heavy rock influences, but on the other hand some of their music is much lighter and has a more R&B influence behind it. They take inspiration from artists such as Arctic Monkeys and Led Zeppelin. As individuals, however, they tend to take inspiration from different artists; from Bono to Tame Impala to BADBADNOTGOOD, a Toronto based jazz group.
Quinn Mills is a self-taught sound engineer, so it only make sense for Quinn Mills and the Common Era to record all of their own music. You can enjoy their music on most major streaming services, including, but not limited to Spotify and Amazon Music. If you happen to be in the Ontario area on February 8th Quinn Mills and the Common Era will be playing at the 2019 Ontario Parasport Games Opening Ceremony.
