dsnd

Josh West and Elliott Gunn make up the band dsnd. Josh West is the lead singer and Elliott Gunn plays whatever is needed; whether that be piano, samples or synth. The name dsnd is an abbreviation for descend. Dsnd holds the theory that you have to fail before you can succeed i.e. you have to descend before you can ascend.
Dsnd play a genre of music that need not be labeled, but could loosely be labeled as pop. Although, their inspirations don't typically derive from pop. Josh West and Elliott Gunn are inspired by different artists. They let their inspirations mesh together when they write. Gunn takes his inspiration from Bon Iver, Thom Yorke and The Lights. West finds inspiration in the music of Kate Bush, Frank Ocean, and Lorde. But perhaps the biggest nod goes to David Bowie.
Josh West and Elliott Gunn seem to push each other to be better musicians. Gunn back into music after they both moved to London. According to Josh West, he's always had an affinity for music. Even though he had this love from a young age, he was never able to create anything worth while until he met Elliott Gunn.
Gunn and West played together under a different name. They took a year off to better themselves and their music coming back as dsnd. So for the time being dsnd does not currently have any music released. You can follow their Instagram @dsnddnsd for updates on when they'll be releasing music.
