The Candescents

With a name deriving from a misdemeanor, the drummer stealing lightbulbs from venues, The Candescents are a rock band with an eclectic mix of influences ranging from The Strokes to Taylor Swift to The Beatles. From Columbus, Ohio The Candescents are made up of  lead singer and rhythm guitarist Alex Harris, bassist Cody Von Lehmden, drummer Miguel Alfredo Acero, and guitarist Alex Von Lehmden. All starting to play music at a very young age, elementary and middle school, these boys have definitely put in the work.
When The Candescents were just starting out they played at a house party where everyone dressed as their opposite gender. They were the first band to play, while they were playing everyone was dancing and jumping the floor began to cave in and water pipes broke. Luckily the party was shutdown before anyone was hurt. A guy down the street invited the rest of the bands to play their sets at his place.
In 2015, they began working with the record label Dirty Hit and dropped out of school. Dirty Hit is known for having signed bands such as The 1975 and Pale Waves. The Candescents toured with Pale Waves as a supporting band. Touring with Pale Waves has allowed them to gain a great stage presence and plenty of memories.
Guitarist Alex Von Lehmden, describes The Candescents as "Sunny, fun, direct, upbeat, handsome." Which they are, so do yourself a favor and go check them out on Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube. Be sure to follow their Instagram as well @thecandescents!
