New Nights
New Nights
Self taught from YouTube, New Nights is five guys from Elgin, Illinois, Tyler Johnson, Dominic Fioravanti, Nick Fioravanti, Max Santo and Nick Connolley. New Nights was formed after Dominic Fioravanti played drums with Max Santo, and Nick Connolley on guitar. Knowing their friend Tyler Johnson could sing and Dominic Fioravanti's older brother, Nick, plays bass; Dominic Fioravanti sent a text to inform everyone that they were now in a band, seemingly with no choice. After spending a few months as a nameless band, who spent hours putting two words together, the boys finally landed on “New Nights” as their official band name. Taking musical influences from bands such as Smashing Pumpkins and Incubus. New Nights plays alternative rock that hints at 90's and early 2000's alternative.
After taking a few lessons and deciding it felt too much like school. New Nights took to YouTube, the world’s best teacher. For New Nights school is only a back up plan if the music business kicks them to the curb. The way they see it, they’d rather spend time putting a ton of work into their music than spend time in school being miserable.
New Nights played battle of the bands at Side Streets, which got them some solid experience with stage presence, an important skill for any performer. After getting a taste of how great it is to play for a crowd, to have people react and enjoy something you made from nothing, New Nights have continued to put forward one hundred percent effort in their music. They have played many more shows and continue to book even more gigs. They are playing a few gigs in December, wrapping up 2018 at the Q Bar on December 30th. If you’re in Illinois be sure to check them out and if you’re not check them out on instagram @_newnights. Their music is on Apple Music and Spotify!
